Kate Isis and I have been wondering; Do we believe the statistics, that are churned out by Extreme Tracking, and other such systems? Because if so, how come all these people from all these countries read our blogs, yet so few ever ‘Comment’ on them?
According to my stats figures, an average of about 70 – 80 people read my blogs on a daily basis. OK. I’m very happy with that. But; when I check on who they were, i.e. Referrers, I average about 24! Checking the ‘Items Read’ (though goodness only knows how this can be known), it shows an average of about 41. I appreciate that one reader could well read several items, but, I repeat; how on earth can ‘they’ know how many items are read?
And ‘Countries’. Are these accurate? According to my stats, my blog has been read by, in order of amount of traffic, people from;
United Kingdom
United States
New Zealand
Australia
Canada
India
Germany
Ireland
France
Philippines
Netherlands
Switzerland
Hong Kong
Italy
Spain
Anguilla
Malaysia
Belgium
Romania
China
Zambia
Estonia
Egypt
Portugal
Taiwan
Peru
Monaco
Israel
Benin
Sweden
Poland
Czech Republic
Bosnia & Herzegovena
Japan
Iran
South Africa
Saudi Arabia
Luxembourg
Vietnam
Costa Rica
Trinidad & Tobago
Sudan
Kazakhstan
Thailand
Well, if this really is so, then how come all these people are so quiet? Surely can’t be. So, my plea message to readers is, PLEASE SPEAK UP! – or else!

Oh dickiebo, they probably stumbled in by accident while looking for something else!
See what happens when you over analyze. Someone like me comes along!
Just sit back and enjoy the stats. You do indeed have a fantastic blog and we all love you. Even the lurkers!

And still it seems Russains don’t read blogs. Interesting, I don’t check the stats anymore, people search some pretty insane stuff on the internet and it just leaves you wondering how your blog came up in their search terms.

I’ve wondered about this too DB. I have two trackers installed and they never jive with one another. I figure it’s a ballpark figure … the countries? I know not. However, I think maybe our blogs show up in general searches and are just stumbled upon, but when it is discovered they are not in the native tongue of the searcher, they are abandoned without comment? Don’t know. Don’t know. Hmmmm.

Like all statistics, one shouldn’t take them as the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
they are just a pile of numbers, nothing one should take too seriously; but will you excuse me a mo’ whilst I check my stats,
