This is why I despise patriotism. Just because they are not your countrymen does not mean they are not in a greater need (probably). I don’t think any person is obliged to help his own countrymen before anybody else. If more politicians thought that way each country would be helping the other not bombing it.
I agree with you Dickiebo, I don’t see other countries helping us or even Europe out especially when they are showing such positive growths in their capital income, or can spend millions on space rockets for what purpose? Far better to help those who are desperately in need and homeless ex-soldiers…
To be perfectly honest, if my name was Dhruv Dharamshi, I might well agree with you and be quite happy for the British pensioners and homeless to starve or freeze to death. But…..it ain’t, and I don’t!
Sage; Too much to ask from our thieving politicos!
Sounds familiar, D. What kills me, is that my country borrows money to help other countries, which makes even less sense. Unless of course, that was half your point, and as usual, I missed it!! And yes, it does this while not taking care of its own. It makes me crazy. On the positive on your end, according to my history buff son, when it comes to flying and floating warfare, at least England only spends what it needs to spend!! You want to talk about insane amounts of wasted money? Your military is pretty damned efficient, and earns its keep. Retired soldiers, I don’t know the whole story on, but I know it’s not what it should be hear either.
When we finally got rid of the despicable socialists in the UK, I hoped for better for our country. Unfortunately, the right-wing are only a bit better that the left which does not give us much hope for the future. Unless, of course, there is a genuine social revolution – which could well happen eventually. People will only be pushed so far.
