HOURS of training and playing by footballers from Swansea University has left the Wales Air Ambulance quids in.
The players’ fitness enabled them take part in a row and ride challenge at the university on static equipment.
The event, which took place shortly before the Christmas break, saw around 80 players from across the university’s seven teams raise £1,024 for the charity.
Zak Shayler, charity co-ordinator, said: “A lot of people in Wales have connections with the Air Ambulance, or have needed it or know someone who has, which was why we chose to support it.”

Well done to nick and all of them.
Yes, it was a great idea and a great effort. I must add that Nick’s part was minimal, but he is Head of Football and all those who took part are ‘his boys’!!
Staggering to think that every time the chopper answers a call, it cost approx £1,500.
not surprised with the cost of petrol!!!
